Today is a Mini Day!

Happy Saturday!

First off I can't believe I didn't post anything for Friday.  I thought I hit publish but guess not lol. 

I came home Friday night just beat after a busy week at work.  I think I'm fighting something also as I haven't felt 100% either so didn't feel like doing much but relaxing.  What I probably should have done was just go to bed but oh well lol

In a few of my previous posts, you saw me do some larger flowers with coffee filters and a topiary out of coffee filters.  Well I wanted to try some smaller ones so just winged it.  I took 2 of the coffee filters and started folding them in half, then again and again and then cut out a circle in about a 1 1/2" diameter.  I took shimmer mist and sprayed it, heavier in some spots to give it some dimension. 

I then rolled them up into balls and then started to unpeel them and pinching them in the center, tighter as I got to the middle.  I poked a hole in the center and put a brad in it and refluffed them and they turned out like this.  I'm thinking I may add some dimension by either putting puffy paint or some glitter on them but will wait a little bit to see.  I will be able to use these either on cards or on some frames.  Very easy and cute!!

I also went to the mailbox and I had received my gift from the giveaway from Tracie over at Life and Times of a 12x12 Addict.  It's so cute and I think I know what I'll do with this one :)  Thank you SO much Tracie!!

Favor

Happy Thursday!!

The week is flying by and the weekend is soon approaching again :)  Yay!!  I sure do miss my 4x10 shift working to have 3 full days off :(

So here is just a cute and easy project that I thought I would share.  We are swaying to possibly do these for the wedding favors.  So here is the semi tutorial to do this adoreable favor.

Take any thinner type of material and make a circle of around 8".  I had received this piece which I love as it already has wire around it.  I need to hunt around to see if I can find more so if you've seen them, let me know :)

You can either use your Cricut or cutting machine to cut out this flower shaped design.  All you have to do is score all around the petal's circle.  Once you've scored it, fold it upwards.

Add the little paper holder to put the truffle in, or whatever you choose :)

Pull up the material around the flower and tie a ribbon around it.

Quick and simple and so cute :)

Photo/Memory Book

Happy Wednesday!!

I have been busy starting to work more on the girls albums for their wedding gift and finally got one ready to decorate now with the embelishments.  I am getting the pages ready and Carissa is coming over tonight and possibly tomorrow to start decorating as this is from her so she knows her bridesmaids the best and she's so excited!!

To remind those who have been following me for awhile, this is one of them.  She is the adventerous one of the bridesmaids.

The left side is a little note area where Carissa can open it up and write her a personalized note.

As you can see, there are pockets, places for journaling (anything with scallop edges in the pocket areas) and lots of tags to add pictures too.

On the left with the scalloped area, this also opens up for more journaling and also has room in the back for more tags for pictures.

One down, 4 to go lol.   The prepping is the longest portion but the decorating is pretty quick and fun :)  Once these are all done we can mark off another thing on the list :)

Dimensional Glaze

Happy Tuesday!!

Another busy week going on at work.  Ramping up with basically no one training you is pretty stressful but my boss knows me oh so well and says I can do it and I'm doing very well so just taking it one day at a time.  Working back over in the IT field is not my favorite but I am thankful to have a job :)

I decided to start working on some dimensional items and so I tried something new.  I printed out some items on vellum paper, did my waterpainting on it and once it was dry, put dimentsional glaze over parts of it.  I just wanted the leaves and flowers to pop out.  I have never done this one before and didn't know how it was going to turn out. 

I got the digi from Karen over at  Graphic Fairy .  Some absolutely beautiful designs out there.

Once it was all dried, I used a decorative scissors to cut around the object and used Mod Podge on the back of it. Now mind you, with the vellum being very thing it will start to really curl up.  Don't worry though and you'll see why, at least what I was using it for :)

I got out a smooth candle that I had and put the cut out on the candle and smoothed it out.  I didn't put the Mod Podge over the top as I really wanted the glaze to pop out.  Once I got it where I wanted, I got out my Distress Ink and started smudging around the edges and also onto the candle itself to give it more of an older look.  I hadn't done this either but it works very well :)  Finished it off then with a sheer ribbon and here's what you get :)

The picture really doesn't do it justice at all but you can get the idea, at least I hope :)

Think about what all you can do with something like this.  Baby gifts, wedding gifts by taking their invitation, and so on :)

Sneak Peak at another dimensional glaze project for you but you'll have to wait and see how it turns out lol.  Don't you just love when we do that to you :)

Halloween Crafts

Happy Monday!!

Whew....I made it through my first week of work and I got to enjoy this weekend with the ones I love.  I was be able to go out and celebrate our 11 year anniversary with my hubby and have some fabulous and yummy food.  I look back and can't believe we've known each other for 16 years and have been together 14 and married for 11! WOW!!

I got things done around the house and was able to spend some quality time with my baby girl at the Wedding Expo and received my giveaway win from Kristi over at Punkin Seed Productions.    How's that for a wonderful weekend :)  Makes it hard to go back to a full week of work that's for sure lol.
So here are a few things I've been able to do these past few days.

I did up a few simple cards for Halloween :)

Made this cute block and put it in front of my daughter's senior picture because she is "boo~tiful :)

And here is a picture of my mantel where all my "Fall" decorations are sitting.  Starting to come to the realization that Summer is over and time to start getting ready for the holiday's :)

Let's see how this week goes and how much time I will have to do a few things after work lol.

I'm in love....

Happy Sunday!!

I was having a fantastic day yesterday and was able to go out to a wonderful late lunch with my hubby to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary.  I have been on the HCG diet for a month and have lost 16 lbs but knew I was coming off of it for just one day just for this special occasion.  Let me tell you, the food was fabulous!!  I may not eat for 2 days now as I haven't had this much is weeks lol.  Let me show you just a few of the yummy things we had.  And no I didn't eat all this myself lol.  This is what we both had and believe me, I have leftovers on my end of things :)  Ready??? :)

Doesn't that look yummy???  I told you I will be stuffed for days!!  Don't want to get on the scale tomorrow but I have too and it's back on my diet for another 8 days and then maintenance for 6 weeks :)  We had a wonderful time and I so enjoyed some special and romantic time with him.  We still gaze into each others eyes and hold hands.  Am I getting to mushy?  lol

Then it was home to do some laundry and some cleaning and errand running.  On my way back I stopped by the mailbox and I received a box.  I was hoping I knew what it was and then I saw who it was from and I got a BIG smile on my face.  Yes, it was Kristi over at The Punkin See Productions with my giveaway win.  I rushed home and opened the box and let me tell you, if you haven't checked out Kristi's blog, hop on over and say hi!!  I love this girl and what she does!!  She is so darn cute!!  So here is what I got :)

Autumn Bowl Fillers

Aren't these just the cutest darn things you've ever seen?!!!  I just love them.  You can put them in a bowl, put them on a candle and so much more.  The possibilities are endless!!  They have a cinnamon scent too  :)   You have to go check her other things.  This woman is so creative :)

For now I have them sitting in this glass vase.  I have to dig out my bowls as they aren't just sitting around but I love them so much I just had to display them and now :)  You know me, I'm impatient lol!!  Thank you so much Kristi!!!

So now that I'm full and so excited about my adoreable bowl fillers, I just want to relax for the rest of the time.  Hmmmmmm I think my oldest dog, Bandit has the right idea.  What do you think???

In rememberance of 9/11

Happy Saturday,

Today's post will have no crafting for me but is in tribute to remembering all of those that lost their lives during this tragic event and to honor all those families and also all those men and woman who laid down their lives to help so many during this time.

A day we will not forget.

For all those little babies who lost their parent and such an unneccessary thing, may your precious memories of them be with you forever and may their angle wings comfort you each and every day.

For all you men and women who came to help on this horrific day, bless you for all you did.  You all went above and beyond your call of duty and with pride, even while losing many of your own.  Thank you for what you do and God Bless.

God Bless all the families who lost their love ones and God Bless all those men and women who serve our country to keep us safe.  My heart and prayers go out to each and every one of you and from the bottom of my heart.......

My prayer for each and every one of you is take a moment in silence and remember all that were taken from us this day and how it changed so many lifes.  Cherish each and every moment we have on this earth and don't forget to hug and love those around us.  May the good Lord keep us all safe.
