Rustic wall art

Happy Tuesday!

The weekend went so fast I didn't get as much done as I had hoped but oh well.  It will be there tomorrow also right?  :)  I never get too upset as my family and their needs are first and foremost and then my "ME" time so here is what I was able to get done.

I had this frame and it was actually gorgeous but I wanted more of a rustic look so out came the paint.

I watered the paint down, went back over with regular paint and then took the sanding block too it. I put some scrap paper behind the glass to give it some character and  I like how it turned out.  I had found this rustic star over at Ben Franklin for $2 awhile ago and wondered what to do with it.  Well when surfing the different blogs, I saw a few that hung things from an empty frame.  Although this is a different frame, it's solid wood behind it so you can't have it empty so here is what I did with it :)

Have a fantastic day and enjoy each and every moment!

Laundry Room and more

Happy Rednesday!!  So I had a little time to finish a project for my laundry room as I wanted to carry my red theme throughout the house and the laundry room is at the end of the house, right off the kitchen.  I will eventually be painting the walls, yes it's on my "To Do" list but for now am bringing in accents of the red.  It is amazing me how happy the pop of color red brings me :)  I laugh at my husband because when I tell him of a project I'm doing he say, "a little red?"  lol  Oh he knows me oh so well but he is loving the little touches that I'm doing and asks me when he gets home what have I done today.  It makes the house feel so much warmer!!

So here is a little plaque that I've done up, using my new Cricut of course :)  Sorry I forgot to take a before shot of the wood but I had gotten it on clearance for a $1 and nothing was on it so you'll get the picture.  After spray painting it red, I cut out my letters and then added a few embelishments and Ta Da!!!  So cute hanging above the door now :)

This way with my little red polka dot bikini clipped to my little clothes pins, I can change out the clothes as desired.  lol

So until I finish my next little project, hopefully today ~ Make it a great day!!  Happy crafting :)

Well today's activities just kept coming as it is a very wet and drabby stormy day so what better thing to do but craft away right?  So here are a few other things that I whipped up today.  I'm still getting the hang of the vinyl lettering from my Cricut so it's not exactly perfect with lining up but still love it.  My youngest daughter's boyfriend is a real country boy so I figured I'd do this up for them :)

So after finishing that, I had a little re-do I wanted to update from an old mop doll that was on one of my shelves in the livingroom so here she is.

Very cute I'd say :)  Now this is my next re-do.  As you can see from many many years ago, I was in a blue mode but not anymore.  Here is what I'm going to do next.  Starting with the smaller one first as the bigger one I have is definitely going to take me longer.  lol

Well that's all for now.  I hope that you've enjoyed my adventure today here in the PNW.  Hugs!!  ~ Laura

Cute Shelf Redo

Happy Saturday!!  I hope that everyone is having a great weekend so far.  I've been able to work on a few crafts these past few days in between Dr. visits and have been waiting to get this up on my wall.  I found this little shelf at Goodwill for $2.99 and started getting some ideas for it and I think it turned out very cute.  This is going to display my grandbabies pictures plus a few nic nacks.... so here is the before shot ~ kinda boring huh lol

So after a few coats of new paint, and of course red as I'm loving it as it cheers me up, here is what I came up with and it is now on my livingroom wall displaying my beautiful grandbabies :)

I can't wait to get my new Cricut so I can start playing with more things.  The ideas are just flowing and am excited!!  So until later,  have a great evening and happy crafting!!!

Little wall hanging for my baby girl

Happy Thursday!!  As I posted before, I have been going through some very stressful times with my youngest daughter who is 20 these past 12 days and more testing and possibly surgery coming in the next week or so which is limiting me of doing my crafting but today I wanted to keep my mind occupied so tried to put a little something together.  I get a little done at a time but I am happy how things are turning out.

Carissa and Brandon have been together for over 3 years now and are talking about marriage in the near future and they love to tell their story about a "backwoods boy and a fairy tale princess" so........ I put this together for them.  I didn't take a picture of the plaque before but it is like this one, just a little bigger but you'll get the idea :)

And here is the after which I know that she's going to love.  Nothing major, just something cute that has a story behind it :)

Also in progress, found this at Goodwill and definitely not my color scheme so in the process of changing that and putting a few extra items on it... so I'll post that when it's all done :)

Make it a great day!  ~ Laura

After shot!!!  Now that is better and goes perfect in our main bathroom.  Just a country girl at heart I guess :)
