What a beautiful day for a wedding

Today was a beautiful sunny day here in the PNW and what a day for a wedding!!  One of the girls that Carissa was best friends with since 7th grade got married today in Seattle at the Paramount Theater.  I have lived in Washington for 47 years and not once had I be in there.  I have driven by numerous times when I was downtown but not to any event there.  Let me take you for a little tour inside this beautiful historical theater.

This is where they had the ceremony and she made her grand entrance coming down these stairs.

Ready????

So I took last night off from catching up on my blog as I think that after all the wind down, it has hit me that I was exhausted lol.  Going back to work wasn't easy this week either but hey, I only have one more day to go so I can do it.

Lets see....where did I leave off?  Oh ya, at the barn :)

Brandon was trying to stay calm in the water tower with all his groomsmen.....did he???  Well that depends on who you asked lol.  He did great though.  He was so anxious to see Carissa he couldn't even sit down and relax.

In the meantime I was busy finishing up the final touches inside the barn.  I made their Unity Candle with their actual invitation, distressed it some and varnished it on the candle to keep it safe.  It turned out so pretty :)

OK so got the barn decorations up, back to the farmhouse now to finish getting ready and get Carissa dressed.

Makeup on, check!!  Mom dressed?  Check.  Now it's time to concentrate on the final things for her.  All the hours I put in making the veil was so worth it!!!  She looked absolutely stunning!!!

So guess that is enough for the night.  I'm going to just sit back and relax for the rest of the evening.  Have a great night and happy crafting!!

Ready for some more???

Oh I cannot tell you how excited I am to be back to my blog :)  It feels wonderful to come home from a full day at work and just sit down and relax now.  I would do it all over again if I had to but I know that Carissa absolutely loved her wedding and I think I will now officially hang up my wedding coordinator position lol.

First up, their table.  The glass block had blinking white lights during the reception so that was a fun thing and of course her bride apron was on the back of her chair lol.  Yes, we did put a bottle of champagne in the bucket also.  The black velvet box had their toasting engraved glasses in it.

Chocolate Fountain with Strawberries

Potato Salad

Green salad with apples, oranges, cranraisins, pecans and feta cheese with a rasberry dressing

So am I keeping your attention with all these things?  Lol!!!  I told you this is going to take me a bit to post all these.  Well I'm going to go relax for the evening.

Let the story start unfolding

Good evening!  Over the past few months of being MIA, I can now show you in some posts what all I was up too :)  Where did it all start on her special day?  All the decorating to see how it was all going to flow together.  First off....all my garland.

The special sign, card barn I made them and the guest book :)  That is my Mom in the background helping get the favors out and displayed.....yup I had lots of help on Saturday :)

Well this will get you started to start getting the idea of how it all started getting together for their special day.  The fun thing about this was Carissa and Brandon had seen all the decorations at my house but they are very visual people so they couldn't begin to picture how it would come together and what did they think when they saw everything??????  Stay tuned!!

She's Married!!!

Well Carissa and Brandon were married yesterday and it was picture perfect!!!  The weather even cooperated and everything came together without a hitch!!  Through a lot of anxiety, she looked so stunning!!!  Yes, I had tears also and some very very special memories were made :)

So here is a sneak peek on what all I had been working on and stay tuned for more :)  I don't have any energy right now so it will be spread out but I'm back to all my blogger friends now!!!

2 1/2 weeks and counting!!

Hi there!!

I must say I have missed my blogging buddies so much these past weeks (or is it months lol).  Time is a whirlwind right now with less than 2 1/2 weeks left until Carissa's big day!!  I am staying pretty calm as everything is pretty much done except for the final details so we're good.

The menu for the reception was chosen by the kids and they wanted pulled pork sandwiches....yup a true BBQ for this event lol.  Thank goodness that is one thing I don't have to worry about fixing as we have the caterer doing that :)  Anywho, Carissa was afraid she was going to drip some of the BBQ sauce on her dress and then my DIL said the same thing for the Flower Girl as she also is in white so what did I do up for both of them???  I think this is a great idea and will keep things safe and sound :)  And the nice thing, they are keepsakes as you can wash them.  Wow do I love washable vinyl!!  lol

I am so ready for this to be done and to relax and start cleaning up my house of wedding items and getting back to normal and start doing crafts for me again!!  I will be back and soon I promise :)

Bridal Shower

Well hello :)  I've been so busy getting things done for Carissa's wedding but wanted to stop by and show you just a few fun pictures that we took today at her bridal shower :)  So sit back and have a cup of coffee and enjoy :)

My first ever attempt of using fondant.  Not too bad I guess and Carissa and everyone loved it :) 

Some of our decorations at a cabana we rented out.  It was perfect for all the ladies :)

Our food table....well this is before we put any food on it but still lol.  A flower arrangement of Carissa's 2 favorite flowers.  Orange lily's and yellow roses.

Wish I would have had a way to diplay these better but these were my lollipop cakes :)  Big hit that's for sure lol.

These were our 4 brides.  Not bad huh for toilet paper wedding dresses :)  These ladies were creative that's for sure.

My sweet baby girl with me and her soon to be MIL.  She's a very sweet lady who loves Carissa very much and is very excited to have her as a DIL.

Well that is it for me.....got a busy week ahead of me between work, Carissa turning 21 on Tuesday and then finishing up yet more wedding items.  41 days and counting and I'll be able to get back to all my projects lol.

7 Weeks and counting :)

Well Hello :)

I promised a few of you that I would post a little more often to keep you up to date as to what I've been up to regarding the wedding.  Oh I am looking forward to having all this done so I can get back to my other projects :)  It is all so worth it though.

So I had posted a sneak peek on what the table centerpieces would be like so this gives you a better idea.  They will all be filled with 3 different color of water beads on the tables but you can see the finished product.

So all the invitations have gone out, the final details are being confirmed and starting next Sunday's the fun festivities will start.  Stay tuned for pictures of her Bridal Shower :)  Here is the mock invitations that went out.  They turned out very cute :)

A few more sneak peeks..... :)

Well Howdy!!!

Oh how I've missed doing all my posts.  I got the sweetest thing in the mail today from a very sweet lady, Linda over at Parkers Paradise saying that she's missed me and my posts.  Well I've missed being here Sweetie :)    I tell you what...the precious friends I've made here in blogland are undescribable!!  You all mean so much to me :)

OK....this one is for you especially Linda.....  I made these 2 cute jars for the bar as we have a bartender and didn't want to put "TIPS"  how tacky huh lol  so I did these.  No pressure :)

Then this special flower is for my Mom to carry when she's walked down the aisle....it represents Dad at the wedding.  There will be an empty seat next to her where this will lay during the ceremony.  I had so hoped he would be there in person but know that he will be watching down on us and smiling from ear to ear and his big baby blues just glistening :)

Here are 2 of the small arrangements.......not sure exactly where they will go but I know they will be there :)  lol.

Well I'll try to post more often between now and the wedding.......getting ready to go go go between now and May 21st :)

Yes I'm still alive :)

Howdy!!
Oh how I have missed being on blogland seeing all the wonderful things that are going on and try to get on when I can but I admit it isn't very often :(  But the good news is I will be back soon.  I am up to wedding items to about my chest area now lol.  So I decided tonight to post just a few of the things I've been doing.

I made these adoreable table placeholders for Carissa and Brandon.  This so fits with their theme and the barn I made for their loose cards :)

Then of course since they have fishing items incorporated also, what a better way to accent that than with the cake topper.  How cute is that huh!!

So that is just a sneak peek of what I've been doing, besides working my fingers to the bones both at work and wedding items lol.

Buuurrrrrrrr...... Ice Bowl

Good morning!!

We have had some very strange weather here in the PNW this past week.  Record breaking temperatures, ice, snow and sunshine all in one day!!  Here is an unexpected ice bowl that formed in our dogs outside water bowl.  Wasn't planned but pretty cool huh :)  It's been sitting outside like this for 24 hours now so you can see it is really cold and it isn't melting. 

I finished a glass block for Brandon and Carissa which will be sitting on their table at the wedding reception.  I still have to put a LED light in it to light it up but that will be a few days before I get that done.  I was so excited at how pretty it came out I just had to share it :)  The shadow is not really showing Brandon's name very well but the flash is too much so this is what you get I guess lol.

Decided to work on a few of the small vases that will be placed on the tables for the reception.  I have already bought those water beads to put in them and will get the waterproof lights to go inside.  Should be very pretty :)

What do you do on a snow day????

Hi and happy Wednesday!!

So the weather guessers said there was to be a big snow storm heading our way today and it took me 2 hours to get home yesterday so when I got up this morning, I called my boss at 5:30 a.m. (don't worry, she always gets up at 3:45 a.m.) and said it was starting to have snow flurries so she said just stay put and stay home.  Did I argue with her???  Absolutely not!!!  lol  So starting work so early I actually got off work at 2:00 p.m. so what did I decide to do???

Yup......more wedding stuff!!  I had a wonderful evening last night and was floating on air as I was FINALLY able to get the kids airline tickets booked and off our miles we've earned so now I have two very excited young adults who will be flying off to Cancun after the wedding, and First Class!!  My miles handled both of them and only cost me $217!!  Can you believe that????  So now I can stop worrying about that and finish the other things.

Very easy items today after work.  We had picked up the guest book and just wanted to dress it up a little.

Then we found the other day when we were out the knife and cake servers and I had found these monogram pieces for them before so another thing off my list :)

And I have to just show you this adoreable Flower Girl Dress.  My youngest granddaughter is so excited and she told me when she saw it, "Nana, it's my wedding dress just like Carissa!"  lol.  I will be making a small alteration so you will have to wait to see what that is :)

Final Flower Arrangement

Howdy!!

I feel like I am in over drive right now and am on a mission to finish as much wedding items as I can.  I had already done a few other larger arrangements and just had one more to do which will go on the food table.  It turned out beautiful!!!  Her color scheme has been so easy to work with :)

Just a little bit at a time when I get home from work and I'm getting it done!!  Yay!!  She's informed me that in 90 days she is getting married.  No pressure huh lol.  Think she's a little excited???

I have been looking around for a flag shadow box for the Veteran's flag I received after Dad passed away and I was at Michael's and it was 40% off!!  So now it is safe and protected.  I am thinking I may put some vinyl on it but the jury is still out on it right now.  I have other things to focus on :)
