Shopping does wonderfuls!!

Happy Friday!!

Posting a few hours early due to having to get up early for work.  I had a very rough day today as I had to deal with Dad's Primary Care Physician and have the talk that I haven't wanted to really deal with.  Hospice.  Reality really hit as he said it is time.  This doesn't mean that he will be gone tomorrow but he is declining at a pretty rapid pace so it's time to have In Home Hospice Care.  On my way home, I was upset which I know if normal so I decided since I was done working for the day, to head over to GW to see if they had anything there to work on.  Well I am very happy to report they did!!

Here is what I got :)

So let me break this down and what I'm going to be doing with these :)

This is so cute.  It is only about 3" tall and I love the rustic look on it so I'm not going to touch it but will be making a cute arrangement for it.

I'll be repainting this one and doing vinyl on it.  Connie over at Shady Creek Lane has given me lots of motivation to do more with my vinyl.  Thank you Connie :))))

Another vinyl project :)

Thinking wedding item here.... have to wait and see ;)

This will be used in many projects.  Can you believe I scored all this for .99 cents!!!

So after shopping, I came home to just relax and went outside to let the dogs out.  There was a beautiful rainbow a little earlier than this picture which made me smile as I was talking to a dear friend of mine on the phone so when I looked outside, I saw this beautiful sunset.  Not to bad for a cold late Fall day.

Have a wonderful day and cherish the time and memories you are making with your family and friends and happy crafting!!

A few goodies :)

Happy Sunday!!

What a week this has been.  Dad is having a very hard time understanding why he can't go back to the apartment and is very persistant to have the nurses call Mom so he can tell her to come get him.  We are having to work with the Social Worker to talk to him to understand he can't go home yet as he needs to get stronger for his safety and well being.  It is SO tough going through this.  On my way home the other day, I decided to stop by the thrift shop to see if I could find any goodies and I am so glad that I did :)

I found this cute picnic basket in mint condition for $4.00!!  I won't be using it for picnics probably but I ended up doing dividers in it and have all my scrapbook/card making embelishments all in one place.  It worked out great!!

I also found these grommet tools for $2.00 :)  I use these for my tags that I make so the holes don't rip.  What a score these were!!

As I was getting ready to leave, a bag of goodies caught my eye and it was full of Friendly Plastic for $2.00!  I couldn't believe it.  They usually run a little over a dollar a piece at the craft stores around here so needless to say, I was very very excited :)

I have the most wonderful husband in the world.  He knows this is taking a toll on me with Dad and he has been encouraging me to take some time for "ME" and do some crafting, even if it is just sitting down and making a card.  It helps so much to have such wonderful support from friends and family through all this.

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Finds and Anniversary

Happy Sunday!!

On Friday I was able to go out and find a few treasures that I want to work on over the next few days.  I found a small toolbox, a few frames, some material, a large candle holder and a plate, and a spoon that I want to try something with :)  This should be fun!!

Look at the detail on this frame.  I just love it and I've got some ideas :)

And I just loved this one!  I'm going to leave it as is on the outside and the paper inside as I think it is very cute but the other things will be coming out and being changed so stay tuned :)

I also finished my son and daughter-in-laws 10 year anniversary present and will be able to give that to them tomorrow so that will be fun :)  The colors didn't show up very well in the picture but it really does all go together.  I took the picture outside and it is the way the sun is hitting it.

I have made all of my grandbabies a crocheted blanket before they were born and my youngest granddaughter was definitely the one that loved her blankey the most.  She has it so worn it is barely holding together.  It's like in 4 pieces so she asked me if I'd make her a new one and of course I said yes.  I asked her what color she wanted and silly me, "Purple Nana" lol.  That is her favorite color.  So I got busy and got it done for her.  She sleeps with her blankey every night and she just turned 4 in May.  She is really getting into the "girly" stage so I decided to put some yarn flowers on it also.  It makes my heart beam that my sweet little pride and joys love what I do for them.

Well that's it for today.  I've got some busy weeks ahead now so have lots to get done so better get going :)  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!  I know I did :)

Opps I did it again.....

Happy Sunday!!  Well I did an opps and I just couldn't help myself.  lol  I have been helping my youngest daughter out as the fleas are terrible this year here in the NW and they've gotten in their house so I bombed, left it sealed up for 2 days, aired it out and put flea powder down and didn't get all those little pest.  So it was back out to her house today to put borox down on the carpet to see if we can get them handled as that is what the pest control guy told us to do so what did I do???  I stopped by GW on the way over there, yes again.  lol

I have to say that this was another score that I'm excited about and will hopefully have more time to work on some of these very soon.  So here is what I got.

I'll break it down as I go.  I have some very cute ideas but won't share them quiet yet because then you won't have anything to look forward to when they are complete.

First off I found these 3 cute items and one will not be touched and that's all I'm going to say.

Then I found these cute little kids cowbow boots and take notice of the glass containers next to them.  Wait till you see what I'm going to do.  I'll give you a hint...there is a surprise coming I'm hoping this weekend but can't post it until I get the word.

Then I found these tiles and I have plans for all of them.  I have 14 total :)  Just imagine, vinyl.  lol

Then of course I found this cute wall hanging and I'm thinking weatherproofing it and putting it outside...hmmmmm we'll see :)

I also found this beauty and will be doing something for my oldest daughter and her family :)  Already know what I'm doing.  lol

I also found this foam piece that is for a no sew pillow.  I've never done one but thought I'd give it a shot.  Looks super simple so we'll see.

And there is a little bench and shelf that I will do something with but still thinking on those.  So, a perfect day!!!!  Stay tuned as I think you're going to be enjoying the next few posts :)

Have a great day!!

Necklace Holder

Happy Tuesday again!!  Well I had some time this morning and so I thought I'd do this.  On my many hours of searching the wonderful talents out here, I came across the idea of making a necklace holder.  I thought it was about time to do something as I just had mine hanging from a few push pins.  I know, very sad.  But, all better now :)

I came across this item at Goodwill for $1.99 and loved the detail and knew instantly that this is what I wanted to use it for as I have quiet a few blank walls in our master bathroom.  So, here is the before picture.  Notice the detail.... now mind you, this feels like a plastic so didn't know how this technique would work but you never know until you try right?

So I then added some antiquing paint, rubbed it off and this is the effect I received.  I kinda like it :)  Then I cut a piece of burlap that I already had and mod podged away and tucked it underneath the frame.  Added a few small hooks and Ta Da!!

I definitely have some more detail work to perfect but that's what it's all about!!  So total cost of this cute project???  $2.00!!!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy!!

Jackpot!!!

Hi!!  Well today is the first day I've been out treasure hunting and it must have been my lucky day as I either found sales going on in the store, or some great finds at the thrift/GW stores.  I'm SOOO excited!!  This will definitely fill up my week projects that's for sure.  So... do you want to see my little treasures??  OK...  So here is the overall picture and I'll break them down as we go.

This is a little table I found at the thrift store, very cute detail on the sides and perfect to hold my Cricut.  I'm going to get a few baskets for underneath and it will be perfecto.  I will probably paint it too...  lol

Then I found these cute blocks for $.49 cents each that I will put little candles in after I redo them and this absolutely adoreable Rooster Chalkboard!!  They had him at $7.99 but got him half off so what a bargin!!  I love him!!!

Then I stopped by GW because I had to drop off some boxes for my daughter so I figured well I'm here, so lets just pop in and if something catches my eye and the price is right, I'll splurge ;)  Honestly I don't think I've ever gone into GW and not came out with something but it sounded good right?  lol

So I found this cute window frame, which I already have in mind what I'm going to do with it.

Found this cute mirrored wallhanging with pegs and think I know what I'm going to do with this.....

Then I found these cute unfinished little crates that I'm not sure what I'm going to do with but I'm sure I can figure something out lol.

Then I found these 2 plates.  The large red one (in the first picture to the right) will be used for Christmas and the smaller one will be finished to use for Valentines Day!!

Then I had to run to the store to get a few things and I've been keeping an eye out for a new bedroom quilt and I scored on this one!!  It is being washed but I'll let you see the "Before Shot" now and you'll have to come back to see the "After".  All I can say is that our bedroom is coming together too.  This is SOOO much fun!!

Oh OK... I'll give you a hint.... but that's it!!

So my damage for my treasure hunting today, $60 but that also includes my other treasures that you will be seeing at a later date so stay tuned!!

Have a great day!!

Thrift Store Shadow Boxes

Well good evening!!  I was able to work on a few crafts tonight and play with some different materials with my vinyl.  I found these little shadow boxes at a Thrift Store and bought all 5 of them for $4!!  Now you can't pass that up.  I wanted a little wallhanging in the guest bedroom so put this together.

Love having quick and easy projects were you can enjoy them immediately!!  :)  I have a few bigger projects that I will be working on but you will have to check back to see what they are lol

Well it's been a very long day and so it's time to head to bed as I have to get up bright and early and go into the office tomorrow vs. work from home.

Have a great evening!!
