Veil

Happy Wednesday!!

Well I have the veil all sewn now and now I will have to hand sew on the bling bling she wants on it.  It will be very suttle but will finish it out nicely.

Excuse the mess on the bookcase, this is my all throw in the "wedding" room lol.

At least it will give me something to work on in the evenings when I come home from work for a while :)

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Fall Shadow Box

Happy Tuesday!!!

I had purchased this shadow box quiet a few months ago and loved the design and old paper in it but didn't like the decor in it.  I wanted to be able to redo it and to be able to change it out throughout the different seasons and holiday's so here is what I came up with for Fall through Thanksgiving :)

I ended up using Friendly Plastic to cover a clothes pin so that I can hang different tags according.  It was so easy to do and turned out very cute :)  I have hung the tag "Journey" on this one due to everything that I'm dealing with right now with my Dad.

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Mock Bridal Bouquet

Happy Monday!!

I was able to get a few projects done over the weekend between visits to Dad over at the rehab center.

I ended up working on a mock bouquet for Carissa to see if this is what she is looking for and if it was the right size.  The picture doesn't do it justice at all in fact when I sent it to her she wasn't sure if she liked it.  Well she came over to see it in person and loves it but I need to scale it down as she is so petite we don't want it to over power her.

Also, I just noticed that I forgot to put my ribbon pumpkin's picture on a previous post.  Can you tell I am a little preoccupied?  lol  So here it is :)

A few goodies :)

Happy Sunday!!

What a week this has been.  Dad is having a very hard time understanding why he can't go back to the apartment and is very persistant to have the nurses call Mom so he can tell her to come get him.  We are having to work with the Social Worker to talk to him to understand he can't go home yet as he needs to get stronger for his safety and well being.  It is SO tough going through this.  On my way home the other day, I decided to stop by the thrift shop to see if I could find any goodies and I am so glad that I did :)

I found this cute picnic basket in mint condition for $4.00!!  I won't be using it for picnics probably but I ended up doing dividers in it and have all my scrapbook/card making embelishments all in one place.  It worked out great!!

I also found these grommet tools for $2.00 :)  I use these for my tags that I make so the holes don't rip.  What a score these were!!

As I was getting ready to leave, a bag of goodies caught my eye and it was full of Friendly Plastic for $2.00!  I couldn't believe it.  They usually run a little over a dollar a piece at the craft stores around here so needless to say, I was very very excited :)

I have the most wonderful husband in the world.  He knows this is taking a toll on me with Dad and he has been encouraging me to take some time for "ME" and do some crafting, even if it is just sitting down and making a card.  It helps so much to have such wonderful support from friends and family through all this.

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Hanging in there

Happy Friday!!

I know I've been away for the past few days as I've been focusing on my Dad and his health issues.  To give you an update, the good news is that he was discharged from the hospital today and put into a rehab center to see if they can get him stronger.  He is down to 127 lbs now and is very weak so realistically things don't look very good right now.

I have been so exhausted and have been trying very hard to take care of myself so today, even though this sounds strange, I went into work to just escape for a bit.  Now how can you now relax when your office is like this right?  This was taken this morning when I got into work at 6:30 a.m.  To bad we aren't allowed to paint our offices huh lol.  Since this is my temporary office I haven't decorated much.

I am hoping for the best and even a miracle but know that things are in the hands of the Lord and I have to just cherish what time I have left with him.

I am so missing my crafting as that is my relief of stress that is happening right now.  Being able to sit and relax a little, I have a few projects that I want to work on and hope to be able to start them soon.

I'm sorry this doesn't have to do with any of my projects, just bumps in the road that we all hit.

Here is wishing you a very happy and safe weekend.  Happy crafting!!

Ribbon Pumpkin

Happy Tuesday!!

So this is going to be a very rough week for me so you'll have to excuse me being offline for a few days.  I received a call yesterday morning that my Dad was not doing well and was being rushed to the hospital so only after 2 hours at work, off I went for an hours drive to get to there.  They admitted him to the hospital as he has pnemonia and they found something on his lung they didn't like the looks of.  Needless to say, I'm also getting pressure from the Assisted Living facility to move them out (they've only been there going on 7 months) and get him more extensive care so on top of trying to keep up with work, hospital, keeping Mom stable AND finding a new place for them to live I'm exhausted :(  Please keep me in your prayers as I'm definitely going to need it.

So here is one thing I did get done over the weekend though :)

So I saw the cutest pumpkins decorated with ribbon over at The Autocrat Haley and Haley did the cutest idea and so simple so I wanted to try it with my other smaller pumpkin that I had bought.

I used the ribbon, the black hair type yarn and added some feathers and it is as cute as can be :)

Laura over at  Following the Paper Trail has a new site now where you can register your projects if you've been motivated by one of her projects.  She lives here in the PNW not to far where I do and she is one talented lady let me tell you.  I have gotten some great ideas from her, in fact the wedding album I put together for Carissa was from watching one of her video's.  Check her new site out if you're interested in seeing so many talented women and their creations over at her new Ning site.  It's free and you'll be amazed!!

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Fall Baking

Happy Monday!!

Sorry I missed posting this weekend but I've had some personal issues that I've been having to deal with the past few days with my Dad's health so I haven't gotten much done crafting wise this weekend.  Life can get so crazy at times I just have to step back and prioritize what needs to be done.  I even took a little "me" time and went and got my hair done.  It was a nice treat and the scalp massage was heavenly.  Sure did help my achey brain lol.  I'm hoping to get a little time throughout the week to work on a few projects.

I decided to make up a new recipe of cookies and give some to my Dad as he needs to put on weight.  Unfortunately he is losing way to much and not eating as much as he should be so wanted to entice him lol.  The picture doesn't do them justice but let me tell you, they are so yummy and moist and taste wonderful with a fresh cup of coffee :)

Pumpkin Butterscotch Cookies

1 sm can pumpkin
2 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
2 sticks butter (melted)
1 tsp salt
2 C walnuts (optional)
4 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 pkgs butterscotch chips

 Mix in order

Drop by tsp on greased cookie sheet

Bake @ 375 degrees for 12-14 minutes

This is a few items of a project I'll be working on.  You'll have to come back and see what it is ;)

Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!
