A few redo's and a new sign

Happy Thursday!!

I hope that your week is going well so far and that you are enjoying some beautiful sunshine.  I think our Summer has finally arrived here in the PNW!!  To bad I have to work during all of this but what can you do.  Need to pay those bills right?

So I updated some of my outdoor decor on our shed and kept it within the color scheme I had put up for the 4th of July.  Changed out the flower and ribbon and added my little hand rake, added a hook to hang my little red lantern.  Perfect :)

I also put something on the other side of the shed....my quick and easy red/white/blue picket wall hanging. My other little window frame holder came apart about a month ago so it is on my "To Do" list to fix it and hang it back up so this will do for now.  Besides....it fits with my star iron piece lol.   Aw....much better.

As for what was new, another new sign added with some vinyl on it from my new cartridge.  Hmmmmm starting to see a pattern in my back yard???  lol  I think maybe we should think about buying some property out in the country and then maybe some of my signs would fit more properly lol.

The entire view of it from our back porch now looks like this :)

Hope you're having a fun time crafting as I love checking out all the new ideas out on your blogs.  Have a great day and happy crafting!!

Outside Window

Well back to reality today and have to deal with the rest of the work week as I didn't win lotto lol.  It is supposed to be a gorgeous week with sunny skies and I'll be loving that.  That is the only perk of having to work so early is I get home with plenty of sunshine to enjoy still :)

OK so I had given a tease before about doing something outside on the shed with one of my old windows that I received for free many months ago.  I knew which one I wanted to use as the frame had come lose and I knew I needed to take the glass out as I didn't want to take the chance of it breaking if it got really windy so that is the perfect one.

So I pulled up the broken piece, gently started to pull the glass out and only to find out it wasn't glass after all!!  It was like a clear plexiglass!!  That shocked me lol but I still took it out as I had something in mind.  I didn't do anything else to the window frame as it was already chipped with paint and only partially painted and I thought perfect!!  I pulled out 2 of my red metal stars, 2 of my wood moose cut outs and a think wood plank and fired up my Cricut!!  The kids had gotten me a new cartridge for Mother's Day and I've been itching to use it as it is the outdoor wildlife one.  Personally I think they had a motive when they got it as it has hunting/fishing animals in it and I think they were hinting to me to make them something for their house lol!!!  So without further ado..........................................

Like it???  I do :-)  Larry thought it was cute and gave that corner of the yard some character.  We both laughed because our "moose" is our oldest dog....he's 9 yrs old and pretty plump and we occasionally call him our little moose lol.

Hope you are having a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Why??????

Howdy!!

Well just when I thought I could get back into the swing of things, more things keep popping up.  OK I'm not complaining because I have my health and so does my family, we both have jobs and taken care of but seriously???  How much can a person take.  You may be asking oh what now girl lol.

Well a few weeks ago I somehow tweaked my wrist and it has been hurting on and off and then yesterday we were at my oldest daughter's house for one of the grandbabies birthday's and my hand and wrist were really swollen!  I tell you, getting older sometimes is the pits lol.  So I am icying it and have a wrist brace on it which totally takes away my mobility to do crafting that's for sure :(  Well it will be better soon I hope :)  OK enough whining about my aging body lol.

Today I received a call from my brother and found out that my Mom is now in the hospital with a bad case of pneumonia and her sugar level is off the charts so I'll be taking tomorrow off work and heading down to see her.  It does make it so much harder not having her close.  I thought I was done with hospitals after Dad got so sick and then passed.  Guess this is part of lifes cycle for me right now.  Can you say..... Laura you need a vacation???  :)

So anywho...what did the hubs and me do today?  Well since my wrist is hurt, he knew I couldn't use the shears to cut down my partially dead honeysuckle so outside he went like a real trooper :)  I love this man lol.  I didn't take a before picture but should have.   So this corner of the yard is is dire need of attention let me tell you!!  Please don't scream when you look at the pictures lol.

So behind this BBQ (trust me it doesn't work) used to be all the dead honeysuckle so Larry chopped it down while I supervised lol.  My "new" son told me last year he would haul the BBQ to the dump for me and as you can see it's still in my yard and I thought to myself, there has got to be something I can do with it lol.  So a few plants later and my wood box, here is where I've gotten so far.  I have a mini vision but it isn't all clear yet so you'll have to stay tuned for that one.

Now onto the "jungle" as we're calling it.  I haven't been able to weed and the dogs love going under this maple and of course barking at anything or anyone that is walking on the street.  As you can see it needs help and bad.  I'm hoping next weekend my wrist feels better to get under there and clean it back up.  Thank goodness this is my backyard and no one can really see it lol.

Now you may be wondering....why is she taking a picture of a shed?  Well because I have an idea and wanted to make you think and tease you a little bit lol so stay tuned :)
So I'm sorry I don't have anything special to posts but wanted to say hi and tell you yes....I'm still around lol.  Stay tuned for exciting things to be coming, especially when my old aging body starts behaving again and my Mom gets healthy.

Big hugs and have a fantastic week!!

Outdoor decorating

Happy Thursday!!

What a beautiful weather week this has been so far so I decided to start putting out some of my Fall decor outside.  I'm not done by any means but at least I've started it lol.

During the week when I got home, I was able to sit down and little by little paint more decor for some cards.  It is so easy and relaxing and love how they come out.  I can't wait to get some more cards done as we've got birthday's coming up really soon so have to get them done :)

We also had 2 little, and I do mean little visitor's the other night.  I opened the back door to let the dogs out and there were these 2 little critters just waiting for me lol.  They look much bigger in the picture but they were both only a little over 1/2"!

Well I hope that you are having a wonderful week and happy crafting!!

Crate and mini pot holder

Happy Rednesday!!  So I finished a few more items that I had gotten on Friday.  Man, I was a busy girl I guess!!  Well what better thing to do when it's too hot to be outside.  Yup... craft away!!

So I am trying to make our front porch a little more inviting so this is what I ended up doing with 2 of the little crates and the mini pot holder!!  I just love this one.  So cute and it looks adoreable sitting next to my other holder I finished.

So I just couldn't leave the arrangement by the front door alone either so I gave it a mini makeover too.  Lets see how it holds up.  lol

Have a great day!!

Backyard mini patio

Hi and happy Rednesday!  So I am linking into the CSI Project on the outdoor decor.  As many of you have seen, I have had a good week with great finds and decided I needed to utilize some of it in the backyard.  We have a very very small backyard with neighbors on top of you so I have little to work with but here is one piece I have come up with.  Please excuse the lawn as I haven't mowed or edged it yet as it has been too hot but that's on the list :)

I leveled out the dirt area as my daughter's dog pretty much tore it up.  I laid down some cement pavers, put my old crate on it, added one of the old windows, spray painted my planter red and planted my cute flowers.  Also I spray painted my plastic watering can (oh I know, I had gotten it before finding my treasures and will be looking for a metal one soon ) and painted "Water Me" on it.  I think it turned out very cute!!    I'm on the lookout for an old picket fence portion to help cover the ugly fencing wire but it holds the dogs in our yard.  lol

Decorating outside is so much fun also and want to do more so stay tuned for those projects :)

Have a great day!!

A few things in the yard :)

Happy 4th of July!!!  My wish to all of you is that you have a wonderful funfilled day with family and friends celebrating our freedom!!

Well I was able to do a few things out in the yard which felt good.  We decided to just stay home this weekend and get some things done around the house which is fine with me.

So remember when I scored the other day with all the "FREE" wood windows, crates and screens?  Well here is what i did with one that I hung on the shed.  Very summery I would say and love it!!

Then I decided to plant a few flowers in my 80% off planters and put them on my "FREE" crates.  Loving it... starting to get some color in my beds :)

Then last but not least, I have these beautiful lilly's that bloom a different color every year so it's always a nice surprise.  I bought them many years ago at a craft fair and I have no idea how they do it but they do!  I've had pink, yellow and orange.  Love them and just beautiful!  This year I had to tie them up as they were too heavy.

Well that's it for now and everyone have a wonderful and safe 4th of July!!!
