50th Birthday!!

Howdy!!  I know it has been awhile since I have been able to post about any of my projects as I haven't been able to work on them as life has been consuming me these past few months but I am back now :)

I posted a few days ago about my new toy..... and I am learning how to use it and am getting to feel more comfortable.  I'm starting out small and will be working up towards the bigger items....well eventually lol.  As I told my husband we need to sell this house now and buy one that I can have an indoor shop lol!!!

So I haven't done anything specific except cut small pieces of wood for signs and blocks but I'm having fun and wow is that so much cheaper!!  My SIL is turning 50 on the 25th and we will be going down to their house for TDay so I wanted to make her something special as she really loves homemade gifts.  Lucky me huh :)  So my first gift I made up for her is this family sign.  I love how it turned out.

Then my 2nd one started out with this neat paint job.  I painted it a solid darker brown as a base, then put a metallic blue over the top and after it dried, got out my trusty sander and went to town.

Out came my vinyl machine and then used distress ink over the top and sealed it off.  I think it turned out so pretty.  She has just redid her bedroom and bathroom in the beach theme and colors so this will be perfect :)
Well that's it for me tonight.  Have a fabulous Tuesday and happy crafting!!

Hugs
Laura

Oh Laura they are both adorable. Great job on the family one... you are so creative. I am sure your SIL will love them...especially that you made them withy your own little hands and your very big heart. Homemade gifts are the best.

Can't wait to see what you are building up to... xo

Have a great day sweetie...
